There has been an increase in last-mile delivery costs in Indonesia, the reason for the increase is due to the price hikes that have been imposed on domestic airfreight for courier companies.
Here's what it means to all of you who are selling goods online and require delivery services:
- Cost of shipping increase between 5-30% across the board outside of Jakarta city limits
This increase happen when the Association of Express Courier, Post and Logistics of Indonesia, or the Asosiasi Perusahaan Jasa Pengiriman Ekspres, Pos dan Logistik Indonesia (ASPERINDO) imposed a price increase in October and continued the price hikes all the way through to early this year, resulting in airfreight rates up to 130%.
So, merchants out there, be prepared to get an increase!
